Dr. Derek Gottlieb
Bio
Dr. Gottlieb is an associate professor in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado. He is the president-elect of the Ohio Valley Philosophy of Education Society, and he co-hosts Thinking in the Midst, a podcast about philosophy and action in education, sponsored by the Philosophy of Education Society. He is a member of many other academic organizations, as well, including the Association of Education Finance and Policy and the American Educational Research Association.

Education
Dr. Gottlieb holds two doctoral degrees. He earned a PhD in Education at the University of Iowa in 2013. His dissertation was entitled "Race to the Top and the Senses of Good Teaching." He also earned a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Basel in 2014. That dissertation was entitled "Common Nonsense: Community and Skepticism in Shakespeare's Comedy."
Both dissertations were later edited into book form and published by Routledge Press.
